Sunset Meadow Vineyards is a 40-acre family-owned and -operated vineyard and winery located between Mount Tom and Mohawk Mountain in the picturesque Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut. Founded in 2008, the winery's 20 acres of vines were planted in vinifera and hybrid grapes by UC Davis-certified enologist, owner and winemaker George Motel and his wife Judy. The tasting room, in a restored 1890s German bank barn, and the patio with firepit, enjoy spectacular western and sunset views, and the tree-shaded grounds are set with picnic tables for a bring-your-own lunch or supper with a bottle of wine. Choose from Chardonnay, Riesling, St Croix, Cayuga White, Vidal Blanc, Blustery Blend, Sunset Blush, Merlot, Twisted Red and Pyrrha’s Passion dessert wine. Note the fun special events organized throughout the warm months: Barrel Tasting, Wine Dinners, Vineyard Walks, and Harvest Festival. The Vista Room is available for private parties and events for up to 26 guests, and the vineyards and meadows are available for wedding and party rental. Sunset
