Newport Vineyards, a 50-acre vineyard just north of Newport RI in Middletown (map), was founded in 1978. In 1995 the winery was bought by Paul and John Nunes, whose local roots date back to 1917.

Fine varietal and hybrid grape wines are made here, including an exquisite Vidal Ice Wine.

You can take a vineyard tour in the afternoon any day of the week, year-round, which includes a look at the vineyards, a lesson in winemaking, and a taste of several Newport Vineyards wines.

While you're here, enjoy the art gallery and retail shop featuring wine accessories and signature clothing. Custom labels are available for the wines you purchase.
